On your marks, get set, run! The start of the Ironman in Nice will be on June 26, 2022! Between sea and mountains, enjoy the idyllic setting of the French Riviera. Each year, this course allows you to rediscover the most beautiful cities of France. Thousands of participants from all over the world will be present. But what does this competition consist of? First of all, this competition is a triathlon. That is to say that it is divided into three events and the participants will have 16 hours maximum to complete everything. The start is in front of the Mediterranean Sea. It will be necessary to swim for 3.8km to validate the first stage. The event will take place at the Ponchettes beach in front of the Quai des Etats-Unis. Several starts will take place. First, the professionals, followed by the age groups. They will have a maximum of 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete this event, knowing that the fastest do it in 40 minutes.

The second event is the bike! 180 km must be covered in the steep hills of the Nice hinterland. A difficult event, but very pleasant for the eyes. The riders will have the pleasure to admire the sublime landscapes of the region by crossing 17 communes and villages.
To finish this triathlon, it will be necessary to cover 42 km (four round trips) along the Promenade des Anglais. Between fatigue and heat, it is surely the most difficult event because it is the distance of a real marathon that is added to the previous efforts.

TRAFFIC CLOSURE
- Promenade des Anglais: northern roadway between avenue Max Gallo and rue Massenet
- Quai des Etats-Unis and Quai Rauba Capeu
- All perpendicular roads giving access to the Promenade des Anglais between Bd Gambetta and avenue Max Gallo
Traffic in the hinterland of Nice will also be complicated. We advise you not to use the road of the Col de Vence and the road of the Col de Tourette.
