GUIDE DE VOYAGE

Visit Monaco in Winter

Luxurious, royal, and independent, Monaco is the place to be if you are on the French Riviera! This small Principality has many magical places and activities to explore. Between luxury hotels, designer boutiques and museums, you won’t be disappointed with the visit.

Nestor & Jeeves has selected for you 5 things to do to spend a magical day in this winter period.

1- Walk through the doors of the Casino de Monte-Carlo

Go to the iconic Casino Square where you can admire the magnificent luxury cars and then enter the Casino de Monte-Carlo. Discover an elegant décor that will take you straight back in time. Beautiful carpets, gold finishes, extravagant lighting, real gaming rooms, French and English roulettes with the croupier, and also a delightful restaurant to enjoy a good meal between two games. So place your bets!

During the holiday season, the casino offers a special Christmas-themed decoration, so even if you don’t play, don’t hesitate to come in and check it out.

2 – Go window shopping!

Monaco is the ideal city to go window shopping or to offer yourself a magnificent Christmas gift… There is no lack of choice between the Metropole shopping center which offers a magical decoration for the holidays, the new One de Monte-Carlo district or the Fontvieille shopping center. Several places are within your reach to find your future luxury accessory! If you don’t know where to start, we suggest you head to the One Monte-Carlo district. The boutiques of the big brands are located in sublime contemporary buildings. Christian Dior, Saint Laurent, Prada, Louis Vuitton, there is something for everyone and the windows are very well decorated!

3 – Fly over the city in a helicopter

How about a first flight in a helicopter in Monaco?
Take off from a famous hotel or the heliport of Monaco and fly away to discover the fantastic landscapes of the French Riviera. You will cross the promontory of Cap Martin and the charms of its surroundings, the Monegasque seaside and then head inland where there are several villages. Before coming back, you will also have the chance to fly over Villefranche, Beaulieu and Eze. The tour starts at 65€ per person.

4- Christmas market in Monaco

Direction Port Hercule to attend the wonderful Christmas market of Monaco! Each year the Christmas market is given a theme which this year is “Christmas in Spitzbergen”.
Travel to the heart of the Arctic with the polar decorations and the numerous wooden chalets then admire the city by taking a ride on the Ferris wheel.
There is no longer an ice rink but a large roller rink for young and old.

The whole city is decorated for the holidays, and as you walk around you can admire the illuminations and decorated shop windows.

5- The Oceanographic Museum

Located on the edge of the Rock of Monaco, the Oceanographic Museum created by Prince Albert 1st evokes the marine world. You can discover more than 6000 specimens on 6500m2. The aquarium is divided into 2 parts: diving in the tropics which reveals the life of the coral reef with clown fish and the dreaded stone fish.

The Mediterranean Sea dive with more than 200 varieties of invertebrates. Many other surprises and shows await you at the museum…

If you wish to visit this sumptuous city, we advise you to rent an apartment in Nice with our concierge service www.nestor-jeeves.com. Monaco is only 30 minutes away by car or 20 minutes by train.
